Almere
For a location right behind the embankment on the Almeerderstrand Mulderblauw made a design for a hotel facility in aid of the training centre of Carnival Corporation, an American cruise company.
The slim tower has rooms right above dam level for an unobstructed view. The public spaces of the hotel occupy two levels that reach the top of the embankment and are spatially connected to the training centre. Per room the facade has different bevels in different angles, which create a pixelated image that refers to the surrounding sand coloured dune landscape. The deviating top floor houses the bar of the hotel and offers the largely foreign guests a spectacular panoramic view of the Randmeren and the old and new landscape. The design was made in commission of HBB Groep and in request of Canival Corporation.
