Van Beeckstraat

Zoetermeer

In commission of Novaform Vastgoedontwikkelaars we made the design for the development of the area “Van Beeckstraat” in Zoetermeer.

green & intimate

The principle for this competition was to realize at least ten zero-energy houses. The plan is located in an urban transition area, between high-rise apartments and single-family housing. In our design we strived for unity and a unique and inherent identity.

The spacious houses differ in width, which results in a varied image. The parking lot, courtyard and the surrounding area have been incorporated in the design to create an intimate residential area with a clear imagery.

Gabion walls with a height of one meter serve as fences while at the same time creating visual unity. The appearance of the gabion walls creates a robust framing of the project as a whole.

courtyard

The use of colours in the courtyard is warm and subtle. The pavement is executed in ton-sur-ton colours and the flowerpots are made out of corten steel. The layout of the parking space and the communal courtyard encourage residents to enter their homes through this green zone. In this way encounters between residents are stimulated.
